Fandom: 2016 - 2017 TV Shows

What I'm watching/considering watching this year. Mostly broken down by day, except for the sports. I don't actually watch anything live, though; we don't have cable or network television, so everything is streaming, and usually on a day or more delay.

Sunday

Quantico (ABC): I never finished season one, but I liked some of the characters a lot. I need to figure out if I'm going to try to catch up and then watch season two. (I think season one is available on Netflix.)

Bob's Burgers (FOX): I started watching this at pottery classes, and then marathoned all available episodes, so this will be my first time watching the current season. I love this show and this ridiculous family.

The Simpsons (FOX): Still in this for the long haul, though we don't sit down and watch it as a family anymore.

Monday

Conviction (ABC): New this year, about an agency that tries to reverse convictions for innocent people. I don't normally watch shows with a big legal element, but I'm intrigued by this one. Considering it.

Supergirl (CW): YES I LOVE THIS SHOW. It's adorable and wonderful and so, so cheerful and fun. I'm glad it's not on CBS anymore, because CBS' streaming is terrible. I'm curious to see if this will show up on Hulu with the rest of the CW shows now.

Jane the Virgin (CW): YES. My favorite show of the past few years. I find it utterly charming, I love all the characters so much, and I am always inspired to write while watching it, which is a nice bonus.

Gotham (FOX): Maybe. J likes to watch this show together (even though he swears he hates comic book movies and shows -- he is turning into such a DC fanboy, which cracks me up, because I am Marvel all the way), but we haven't finished last season.

Timeless (NBC): New this year. TIME TRAVEL CRIME SOLVING? Is this a fabulous new Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? I'll give this one a try.

Tuesday

Fresh Off the Boat (ABC): I really love this show, though I tend to marathon it in half-season chunks rather than watching it every week.

The Flash (CW): I am so behind on this show, but need to catch up because I've heard all about the Supergirl crossovers and possible musical episode and what even is this? DC is killing it with the tv shows (not so much Gotham, but The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, GET IT DC).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX): YES. LOVE. It still sometimes hits a sour note with the jokes, but mostly this is a delightful show that fills me with joy and happiness. I love almost all of the characters, and even Jake and Charles have grown on me.

Wednesday

black-ish (ABC): I live for the kids on this show. Their actors are AMAZING.

Criminal Minds (CBS): In it for the long haul here, too, even though I am leery about this show with Derek Morgan. Every year, I watch this and think about what Mom would have thought about the episodes, because she's the one who got me watching it in the first place. (Despite her HATING gory things.)

Arrow (CW): I'm even farther behind on this than The Flash, and trying to catch up. I just find the first half of season one super boring, and I can't get past it, though I know I'll like later episodes more.

Blindspot (NBC): The story is not great, but I love the Jane Doe character with all my heart.

Thursday

Pitch (FOX): New this year. I don't even like baseball, and yet this looks AMAZING.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (CW): Yet another DC show I desperately need to catch up on before the huge crossover event. Congratulations, DC TV. You adding Supergirl to other shows has sucked me in.

The Blacklist (NBC): J and I watch this show together. He enjoys it a lot more than I do, but it's entertaining enough, and I like having a couple shows we watch together.

Other

Bones (FOX): I'm not sad to see it end, exactly, but I will be sad to not have good episodes to watch anymore. I've watched this since the pilot, and I love these characters a lot.

Luke Cage (NETFLIX): OH. MY. GOD. GIVE IT TO ME.

Longmire (NETFLIX): Another show J and I watch together, though I've missed a bunch of episodes.

Gilmore Girls: Seasons (NETFLIX): Sister K and I will be watching this together (or maybe together but apart, depending on our schedules), I think.

iZombe (CW): Another show I watch with J, and we both love it a lot. Super excited to see where season three takes us.

Sports

Football: I am generally busy during Michigan games, but I follow the score, and will watch when I can. After the Rams announced the move to L.A., grad school bff formally invited me to become a Colts fan, and has been hooking me up with swag, so that's my new pro team. Doing fantasy football again with grad school bff and nephew (and a bunch of other people). Nephew made the line this year, so I hit up more high school games to see his halftime show.

Hockey: IT'S HOCKEY SEASON, Y'ALL. Following the Blues, as always, Michigan and Missouri State University college puck, and the Springfield Express junior hockey team, plus whatever else I can catch. (Sister K is the team photographer for two of those teams.)

Pro Wrestling: Mostly just watching Raw and Smackdown, though I'm waiting for next June's live event schedule so I can see if BFF and I can hit one while we're on holiday together. Total Divas, when it comes back. I'd like to make it to a Shimmer taping, but it probably won't happen this year or next year (too much other travel planned).
