I feel you SO MUCH on the space and spaceflight stuff! And imprinting on Star Trek TNG holy shit yes. I will unironically acknowledge that my space/spaceflight obsession has completely changed the way I look at life and the universe, especially the future (because I operate under the default assumption that Real Life is a prequel to Star Trek.)
