This is lovely. I feel like this is just such a perfect encapsulation/exploration of what it's like to be on that cusp of adulthood--womanhood--and still deeply (and joyfully) entwined with your family, but also starting to strike out on your own, become your own person, figuring out as you go who that person is, who she'll be.
