fandom, you are so so stupid sometimes

Woah, this is why I stay out of fandom.

I may have to cut the next person who uses "tranny" as an insult to a strong, in control, powerful woman.

Well, obviously I won't cut, but I will want to very much. I already want to very much. Plus the hatred just because of her reaction to another character. We don't know anything about them yet.

Mostly it's the name calling which is pissing me off.

However, Futurama has shrunk and they are inside Fry. I used to play games that I'd been swallowed by a giant and had to find a way to survive inside his stomach and other systems as I learned to move through the veins. Yes, I was a weird kid, but this episode is cool so far.

On my other journal, I have the actress playing her character in my mood theme and in icons. I wish they were here to express my love for her.

Ooh! Pyro!

Okay, what fandom was the insult from? 'cause really, I don't know of any shows on television that have a transexual as a main character/recurring guest except "Nip/Tuck", and that was last season.

Can I help you hurt them?

Love the Pyro.

It's from tonight's Lost episode, in which Michelle Rodriguez plays a very strong, angry, physically violent woman named Ana Lucia, and the fangirls angry she's hurting their precious Sawyer (who can be a real bastard to everyone, but that's ok) keep calling for her death and saying she can't be a real woman, she must be a tranny and it's all very insulting. My anger boils over.

So many insults all in such stupid phrases. Bah.

Nip/Tuck has a transexual? I never knew that. I wish I could have gotten into the show, everyone seems to like it so much.

And of course you can help hurt them! We'll make a war party! Whee!

Dammit, I had a lot written, and it got eaten up. Bullet points this time, then.

"Nip/Tuck" had a transsexual regular guest last season, in Famke Jannsen's character. I don't really watch it, but John Hensley, who I enjoyed watching on "Witchblade", plays the son of the main characters.
All three of them.
It's complicated.

I usually watch "Lost", but I missed it tonight because of school stuff. Calling AL tranny just because ickle Jamesy gets his feelings and his self hurt by a woman isn't all that nice... maybe they should just be grateful he got back to shore at all. That said, MR's character may be trans, but the casting agents could have just as easily cast a trans actor (actress?) as AL. Roderiguez usually gets cast as tough, powerful women (female boxer, street racer, mother cop), so why are they surprised that's how AL turned out?

Pyro fic! Always fun... doesn't matter whether it's Ryro or Fire and Ice, but I love me some Pyro fuckfic. (Yes, I have issues. I've learned to deal with them.)

War party=fun.

I am not sure Ana Lucia is a trans character (unless I missed something in the two previous episodes, which I missed while on holiday). It's more like these fans speaking out have such preconceived notions about women (and about trans apparently) they think a woman can't be strong and angry and violent without becoming a man (or literally being a man) and think trans is an insult.

I love Rodriguez's rock hard female characters, especially the female boxer and the street racer. Oh, pairing MR and Vin Diesel was the best damn idea for a movie couple ever. Humina.

Hey, I'll say I'm totally a FF slash nut, but MR's Letty and VD's Dom? Totally the hottest canon couple in a movie in the last five years.
