Man, stores that don't get into FCBD suck. I went to the two main stores in town, today. The small one? Totally into it, doing heaps of awesome stuff to bring in shoppers, with resultant huge crowds.
The large store? Couldn't see any FCBD signage outside, and a quick look around inside didn't reveal anything. Once I was outside again, I did see a solitary poster stuck on the window, but that was it. Whether they sold out, or I just didn't see their display (I admit that I was in a hurry by this stage), I'm not sure, but I'll tell you one thing: that store is several times larger than the one I was in not an hour earlier, but it had only a fraction of the customers.
FCBD is good for the store and the customers and the creative teams behind the books! Why some stores don't embrace it, I have no idea. :(
Also, I so know how you feel when stores aren't stocking the issue you're looking for. Grr.
