[link] Remix Redux

And here I was just thinking that my holiday fic list was very small this year, now I know why - all the ficathons I love (except for Yuletdie) occur after the new year.

Anyway, Remix Redux is starting up again, and it is always a lot of fun. Some of the rules have changed this year, and [livejournal.com profile] musesfool explains them all in a post here.

Come, join the fun. It's a great time, and I've always received excellent stories and really enjoyed the authors I've remixed.

*frets*

I... don't know.

I want to. But I don't. 0_0

I *kinda* want to, but I'm so limited in my catagories. I feel like there's not much I can do...

I can understand that. I didn't do it for the first few years she ran it, because it came at a bad time when I was still in school, and because I was a bit intimidated by the whole idea.

All I can say is I've had a blast, and have absolutely loved the stories I've received, but also the stories I've written. It's an interesting writing exercise to take someone else's story and remix it, something I do in my original writing a lot (I have this love of rewriting folktales), and it has turned out some slightly creepy, absolutely wonderful stories I love, and would never have written otherwise.

I can understand that. One of the reasons I didn't do it the first few years she ran it was because I only qualified in Lost Boys and BtVS, which I wasn't writing at the time, so it felt like I'd be too limited to participate.

I had it too easy that year I participated. I knew your story, and while it's hard trying to twist someone's work, I know you. A stranger is much harder to write for.

I have Constantine, but I only have one story for it. I know HP very well by now, but I've never written for it and I don't think I could. I'm just not attached to HP or Ron or Hermione in a way I could write them, like David.
