I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond to this comment. I'm really bad about that.

Anyway, I pretty much went "cold turkey" on it. A couple of my friends stopped eating sweets and started to feel better, have less moodswings, things like that, so I thought I'd give it a try, too, and it did help. I did really good right up until Christmas Day, and then I fell off the wagon hard-core, so now I have to start all over again with the cold turkey. (Today is day one.)

As for the diet soda, I'm still iffy on whether I'll cut this out completely or not. In moderation it's fine, it doesn't make me feel bad, but it's too easy to grab a can of diet Dr. Pepper instead of making a cup of tea, and I need to get away from the soda being the default drink. I hardly ever drink it anywhere but work, and I'm trying to cut it down there. (Today is day three with no soda.)

It's hard sometimes, people put such an emphasis on food, and so many people give sweet treats around the holidays and for celebrations, so I'm working on a way to deal with that, and the guilt trips some people give. (Maybe not on purpose, but they do give them.)
